FUND FOR LOCAL COOPERATION

Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC) is an instrument of Finnish development cooperation administered by the Embassy of Finland in Windhoek. FLC support is channeled through the local civil society and private sector organizations, companies and business partnerships to complement other development cooperation in Namibia.

The goal of the Embassy's FLC Programme for the years 2016-2018 is to improve the functioning of civil society and capacity of private sector for implementing projects for socio-economically and environmentally sustainable development. Two specific focus areas are to

  1. enhance democratic participation for enhanced equality and
  2. promote more dynamic, responsible and inclusive economic growth

The Embassy follows FLC guidelines set by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs to operate the funding instrument.

NOTE! THE EMBASSY DOES NOT HAVE FLC FUNDING FOR NEW PROJECTS FOR THE TIME BEING. PROJECTS WILL NOT BE STARTED IN 2018 OR 2019.

The next budget for FLC will be made available in 2020. Please follow up this page at the end of 2019 as we announce the next call for proposals.
